APEX PRO 3.0 GRIP SOCKS

We’ve made some big upgrades between our new PRO 3.0 and last years PRO 2.0.

It’s a quantum leap in grip pad technology, as well as base material:

GRIP PADS
We’re now using our DuraGrip technology. A synthetic textured suede that is a different material to the cheaper Silicon compound we used in the PRO 2.0. Here's why we upgraded the grip pads:

Stability
We wanted more stability by getting a wider grip coverage on the sock. Silicon bonding means we can’t cover the whole sock area. The new 3.0 grip pads increase our coverage (on the heel and achilles) and therefore stability.

Grip
The 3.0 grip pads don’t feel as ‘sticky’ as the old 2.0 silicon when you first touch it. However, the new 3.0 grip pads are textured and provide more consistent grip and friction with your boot insoles in all weather conditions.

Durability + Moisture
The new 3.0 grip pads will last for a lot longer than silicon & also actively improve grip when exposed to moisture (rain, sweat). The silicon pads will not grip as well when overly exposed to moisture.

Environment
The old 2.0 silicon compound is terrible for the environment and the workers that mix and bond the grips.

Quality Assurance + Waste
Creating grips with silicon leads to about 10%-12% of all socks being thrown away as silicon does not always bond correctly (this is an issue every silicon manufacturer has) - our 3.0 synthetic suede has a 0.5%-1% error rate.

MATERIAL
We’re now using our DryWick technology. We have reduced the cotton % from the PRO 2.0 and replaced it with a light, airy smart polyester % for the PRO 3.0. Here’s why we upgraded the base material:

Dry Toe Material + Holes
We’re now using our own breathable and soft polyester yarns for the base material of the PRO 3.0. The cotton in the 2.0 would often get wet, stay wet, and then dry crusty and hard. This led to holes in the toe. We hope to solve this with the 3.0 base material.

Breathability
The base material of the 2.0 held a lot of moisture and did not air as quickly or as completely as we wanted. The 3.0 uses a smart polyester that draws moisture out of the sock 4x faster than cotton.

Reduce Blisters
Using a softer material in the 3.0, that holds less water than the 2.0, will ensure that the chance of blisters is reduced. The socks might feel slightly less stretchy when putting them on than the 2.0, but the 3.0 still wraps your foot for a personalised fit.

The ExoFrame® is built to ensure your foot doesn't slip inside the sock. Meaning when you turn, accelerate, and stop you don't lose power transfer and vital milliseconds waiting for your feet to adjust. Combined with our advanced grip pads, Apex socks maintain contact with your boots insole creating zero slippage, all because of our ExoFrame®

The DuraGrip® system uses a textured synthetic suede. It provides physics-defying stability, split-second grip, and locked-down comfort in all weather.

Thin synthetic textured grip pads are activated by movement, heat, and moisture to perform season after season under intense pressure.

We've tested the socks extensively to the point of destruction, and found that a pair will perform for a minimum of 2 years. This testing was based on a minimum of:

30km per week high intensity running (4 training sessions & 1 match every week).
All weather conditions: Rain, Snow, and Sun
All surfaces: Grass, Concrete, Turf, and Indoors

It's important to note the pads may feel 'hard' at times. They are designed to soften when worn then they are activated by heat, moisture, and movement.

You may find that some of the grip pads around the ball of your foot, particularly dependent on your foot shape will wear faster than other parts of your foot. This is determined by your biomechanics.

Currently Apex socks are one size fits all. The ExoFrame® wraps to your feet ensuring that 'locked in' feeling. This means it fits a range of foot sizes:
