Product Tech

At Apex we're obsessed with pushing the boundaries of product function, utility, quality, and durability

To create premium high performance gear we need to source and create unique fabrics and materials to keep up with whatever you throw at them.

It means our products last longer, perform at elite level, adapt to any situation, and in the long run better value for money.

Advanced fabrics and materials are not commonly used by most companies, and we pride ourselves on sourcing, testing, prototyping, and releasing world leading products.

Our focus on these fabrics and materials sets us apart in our own space. And we're just getting started.

The ExoFrame® is built to ensure your foot doesn't slip inside the sock. Meaning when you turn, accelerate, and stop you don't lose power transfer and vital milliseconds waiting for your feet to adjust. Combined with our advanced grip pads, Apex socks maintain contact with your boots insole creating zero slippage, all because of our Exoframe™

The DuraGrip® system uses a textured synthetic suede. It provides physics-defying stability, split-second grip, and locked-down comfort in all weather.

Thin synthetic textured grip pads are activated by movement, heat, and moisture to perform season after season under intense pressure.

The DuraGrip® system is made by using a textured synthetic suede that is heat bonded to the base of the sock. The grip pads are embedded into the sock surface to sit flat against your foot when the socks are worn.

We've tested the socks extensively to the point of destruction, and found that a pair will perform for a minimum of 2 years. This testing was based on a minimum of:

30km per week high intensity running (4 training sessions & 1 match every week).
All weather conditions: Rain, Snow, and Sun
All surfaces: Grass, Concrete, Turf, and Indoors

It's important to note the pads may feel 'hard' at times. They are designed to soften when worn then they are activated by heat, moisture, and movement.

You may find that some of the grip pads around the ball of your foot, particularly dependent on your foot shape will wear faster than other parts of your foot. This is determined by your biomechanics.

Grip socks have been the same for a while. Take a sock, stick on some grips (usually cheap rubber), and that's it. At Apex we take a very different view.

We believe socks should perform and be as advanced as the boots you wear. If you spend £200 on boots, why wear a pair of socks worth £3 that negates a good % of the boots potential performance.

So we went back to the drawing board. Scientifically studying the biomechanics of how your foot impacts your boot, understanding that your feet don't need total grip coverage, and reworking what a football sock could be.

Our ExoFrame® is the result. A simple and yet vital jump in the science behind socks. By giving you grip pads on the key parts of the foot you need, and using excess space to wrap you toes, midfoot, and heel with an elastic frame, you get a lighter, more comfortable, and more durable sock.

SIZE & FIT

Currently Apex socks are one size fits all. The ExoFrame® wraps to your feet ensuring that 'locked in' feeling. This means it fits a range of foot sizes:

UK: 7 - 8 - 9 - 10 - 11 - 12

US: 8 - 9 - 10 - 11 - 12 - 13

EU: 40 - 42 - 43 - 44 - 45 - 46

The socks are built to form to your feet. They will fit snug, but not too tight to help reduce the slippage of your foot inside the sock, as well as slippage between the sock and the boot.

At some point soon yes. We are collecting performance data from around the world from a range of players and athletes to work out how best to size our next generation of socks for optimal fit.
